Summer Safety Fun
Vacation Safety School teaches safety skills to school aged students. There are two (2), one-week sessions during the summer from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Session 1 is open to students aged 7 to 9 and Session 2 is open to students aged 10-13. Each class will have a maximum of twenty students and the students are enrolled on a first-come first-served basis. To enroll, the student must be a Deer Park resident or registered in DPISD. The class is free of charge.

Topics in the Vacation Safety School include Gun Safety, Cyber Safety, Drug Prevention, Fire Safety, Defensive Tactics, and more.
During the week, the students get to meet the Deer Park police officers and learn valuable lessons from them. Guest speakers from other agencies, which may include Crime Stoppers of Houston, Texas A&M Transportation Institute, and Bay Area Council on Drugs and Alcohol (BACODA), teach students as well. McGruff the Crime Dog may even pay a visit.
The students get to tour the Deer Park Police.
